I was in total disbelief when I heard about some kids in New York who burnt a homeless man to his death as he laid in front of a church. I mean what is this world coming to? What did that old man ever do to society? This is unreal I can’t imagine how parents could raise their kids to be so evil. I hope they get life for what they did. If I were the judge I won’t even give them a trial. Just put them in jail. It’s unbelievable.

A while back my friend and I were going to a local bar to play some pool. We pulled into the parking lot next to a guy that was leaving. When the guy backed his car out, his front end smashed into the side of my friends car. We both got out to talk to the guy and asked for his insurance information and what not. He claimed he had no insurance and there was nothing he could do about the damage! We both got pretty upset and the guy just drove off. Luckily a few people inside knew who the guy was and we were able to file a police report and get the damages fixed.

So I’m reading this news about the wife of the Army man who is missing and presumed dead and how they want to deport her back to the Dominican Republic because she came into the country illegally. And while I won’t stand for an illegal entry into the US, it would really be insensitive if the powers that be deport this woman in her time of grief and misery.
If anything, they should be trying to help her in every way that they possibly can to remain in this country and have a better life. They owe her that much, she loan her husband to the US to fight their war. Doesn’t that amount to something? It would really hurt me to see this woman return to the Dominican Republic and while her husband’s body is buried here, should he be really dead. That would be horrendous to say the least.

Nigerians and Ghanaians have added a new scam to their repertoire: the sweetheart scam. Sweetheart scam explained is that these African men and women are using pictures US models and signing up on dating websites. They immediately lock in to as much vulnerable women as they can until they find one that is into them and their looks. Charming the pants out of these women, these men work with a noted script, one which would first feature them professing their love and then wanting to get married and settle down. And then when the women get too comfortable, they start working on their pockets. They come up with stories, which run the gamut of being stranded in another country, saying a family member is sick or that they want to get into business and want the woman to pay the initial cost. So lady’s beware. Put your head before your heart.

My ATT phone bill came in the mail today and it was a whopping $90. Mind you, In only call long distance for free and make the occasional local calls. And even when I call locally, I never surpass the five-minute mark that I set for myself. So why is my bill so high? Honestly, I wish I knew for sure, but I’m working on the theory that it’s because I refuse to bundle up with their services. And since I haven’t decided on that just yet, this must be their way of “sticking” it to the man.

I watched in dismay last week as an eight-year-old girl struggled to walk in mid high-heel shoes. Her feet twisted this way and that and it was clear that she was uncomfortable. My question is why do mothers allow their kids to dress like this. Are some of us raising our kids with an “America’s Next Top Model” mentality where image is everything or are we egging them on by our actions to grow up too quickly? Parents, let kids be kids and enjoy their slow ascension in life. Truthfully the kid would have faired better wearing flip-flops.
