My grandmother has been in a hospital for over a month now. She has very poor health and can’t stay home now alone. She recently had surgery that she had problems with during, and after, her procedures. He had already told us that she might have problems due to her health problems and her age, as she is almost 90 years old. Her doctor just told our family that he recommended us to check out different nursing homes now, because it would be dangerous for her to be at home alone, if nobody was able to move in with her or have her move in with them. That was no possible because everyone in our family had jobs to go to. It was very saddening to us to think of putting her in a nursing home and it was to her, too. She did not have the money to pay for it either. She only owned a small home, but she loved it. In order for her to be able to go into a nursing home, she would have to sell her home and let the state take over in paying for her nursing home and other medical expenses. Even though it was hard for her to sell her home, we found a very nice and clean nursing home and was highly recommended by many. It was even closer to all of our family. They would take her social security income each money with the exception of allowing her to have a very small amount of money at any time and no assets over a certain amount. We sold her home and she is now moved into her new nursing home and loves it, even though it’s so sad for her to think that her home had to be sold. One great thing she was allowed to spend her money on first, before giving the rest of it to the state, was to pay for her own funeral and headstone. It was nice that she was able to do this first, even though this was another sad moment for her. Funeral planning can be hard on families financially and deciding and agreeing on what casket and all else there is to arrange. It was a real eye opener to everyone how much there is to do and how much easier it will make things when she passes away. All the funeral planning is done now and all our family will have to do is arrange the date and time. Many people do not realize that if you make your funeral arrangements and pay for it all, the price will never go up or cost any more when a person dies. I have now started thinking about taking care of my own funeral planning to save anyone else the time and money to do so when I pass away.

Another Christmas is fast approaching and I have not even decided what holiday gifts I want to get for my parents. It’s hard enough that my vehicle is in the repair shop and getting a ride from a friend to go shopping is not an option for me. So I guess I’ll have to tune in to the television shopping networks and see what they have in store. I found a few things that I liked for my parents while watching the other day and the prices were quite reasonable.

My grandparent’s golden fiftieth wedding anniversary will soon be approaching so our family decided to do something extra special for them for their special day. We all went together to travel agencies to discuss different unique cruises. The ones that appealed to us the most was the European cruises. We knew that was one that our grandparent’s would never pay to go on themselves. We combined our money and got one of the nicest and fanciest European cruises they offered. Now, we can’t wait til their anniversary is here to finally be able to surprise them with it. We know they will be so surprised and happy.

My wife goes at least once a month to a spa to get a message treatment, facial and her nails done. She has done this for over a year now. It makes her feel so much relaxed and confident about herself. She recently noticed that her face had a few blackheads and other blemishes on it. She began searching for different treatments that she could get to help with these problems. She had tried many products available at different stores, to which none of them gave her the result she was looking for. She read about microdermabrasion. She decided to talk to a doctor about this procedure. Our insurance did not cover it, because it was considered a cosmetic procedure. The price was reasonable, so she decided to try it. Now, she goes every month and sometimes twice a month for microdermabrasion. She recently purchased a package that covers several treatments, which ended up saving her money, since she was going to be going that many times anyway. Microdermabrasion always leaves her feeling refreshed and she never has any side effects from it. She is so glad she began with these procedures and will continue getting them.

My friend is getting ready to get married. The wedding is a couple months away. He was going to have all the guys in the wedding wear a tuxedo. He has now changed his mind. Now he has decided that he will wear a tuxedo and the rest of the guys that are standing up with him will wear nice matching suits. All the guys need to be fitted for them, so they can be altered to fit perfectly. We plan on going with him at the same time so we can all be fitted on the same day that he is fitted for his tuxedo. That way we can be sure that the suits all match and are the same color and his tuxedo is the same color, too.

My girlfriend’s sister always has debt collection agencies calling her and her boyfriend because they have a hard time paying some of their bills on occasion. I was talking to her boyfriend the other day while they were over at our place, and he was talking about spending all of this money on Black Friday deals and how he’s going to buy them a new big screen plasma 1080p TV and I just couldn’t believe what I was hearing. I try not to say anything to them about how badly they manage their money just to keep things cool between us, but that was just ridiculous.

My girlfriend is always saying she wants to start taking diet pills and that she’s fat and needs to lose weight. Personally I don’t find super skinny women all that attractive. My girlfriend is about 5′7″ and weighs 125 pounds. Her mom gained a bunch of weight as she got older and I think my girlfriend is worried that she’s going to do the same thing. She ordered some Alli weight loss pills, but I hope she doesn’t end up using them. She’s perfect!

Yesterday my girlfriend and I went bed shopping. We looked at several different bed frames and matching bedroom furniture packages at what seemed like 200 different stores. I finally just gave up on my opinion and let her pick out whatever she wanted. I spend most of my time in our entertainment room or in my garage, so it wasn’t as important to me as it was to her. She picked out a decent set of furniture, though. I have no complaints.

For the last couple of weeks my girlfriend has been going on and on about joining a wine of the month club. She heard a few of her friends at work talking about it and it sounds like a great idea to her. I keep telling her that I’m not at all interested, but I think I’m going to go ahead and join one of the wine clubs as a gift to her for Christmas this year. She does a lot of things that she doesn’t really want to do, just to make me happy, so this is the least I can do for her.

My girlfriend’s father and I have always gotten along very well. This hasen’t been the case with any of my previous girlfriends. My girlfriend’s dad actually enjoys hanging out with me on the weekend. Last month when he came over to pick me up to go golfing, he actually gave me a new set of Titleist golf clubs. I’ve never really received a gift like that from anyone before in my entire life. These aren’t pawn shop or bargain bin priced clubs. These are top notch professional quality golf clubs he gave me. I guess I’m just lucky.
