A few people I know, who like myself are into movies can’t stop talking about how great blu-ray and high definition is. Every DVD that I’ve seen on Blu-Ray costs at least $15, no matter if it’s an old movie or a new movie and I just don’t see myself spending that kind of money on old movies yet. I don’t even like spending that much on new releases, I usually wait until I find them cheap on eBay. A prime example of an overpriced Blu-Ray DVD is the Die Hard collection. It costs $110. It’s a 4 movie collection. I’m sorry, but I’ll never spend a hundred and ten dollars on 4 movies. High definition can wait.

I was in total disbelief when I heard about some kids in New York who burnt a homeless man to his death as he laid in front of a church. I mean what is this world coming to? What did that old man ever do to society? This is unreal I can’t imagine how parents could raise their kids to be so evil. I hope they get life for what they did. If I were the judge I won’t even give them a trial. Just put them in jail. It’s unbelievable.

I’ve been a loyal Sears customer for many years. I really like the warranties they offer and the quality of their products. Their customer service as of late seems to be getting worse and worse. I needed them to come out and look at my washer when it was leaking and they said they could send someone out in 5 days. 5 days! That’s alot of piled up laundry and a pretty big inconvenience. After getting ahold of several different people, I finally got someone a little higher up on the food chain and they got someone to come out the very next day to take a look at my washing machine. I’ll probably try and stay away from Sears from now on. This isn’t the first problem I’ve had this year with their customer service (or lack there of).

I really can’t wait for summer to be over. My favorite time of year is probably Fall. The temperature starts cooling down but it’s not quite as cold as Winter. I just plain out hate the heat. Maybe my car air conditioner being broken has something to do with this. Regardless, I can’t wait for Summer to be over.

A while back my friend and I were going to a local bar to play some pool. We pulled into the parking lot next to a guy that was leaving. When the guy backed his car out, his front end smashed into the side of my friends car. We both got out to talk to the guy and asked for his insurance information and what not. He claimed he had no insurance and there was nothing he could do about the damage! We both got pretty upset and the guy just drove off. Luckily a few people inside knew who the guy was and we were able to file a police report and get the damages fixed.

The other day at work I was filling out some order forms and other paperwork and my favorite pen exploded. It ruined the forms I was working on, soaking through 3 or 4 layers of paper. I had to redo all of the forms and waste alot of valuable time that I could have spent doing other things. I’m kind of weird about my pens. I like having one specific pen that i use on a regular basis.

So I’m reading this news about the wife of the Army man who is missing and presumed dead and how they want to deport her back to the Dominican Republic because she came into the country illegally. And while I won’t stand for an illegal entry into the US, it would really be insensitive if the powers that be deport this woman in her time of grief and misery.

If anything, they should be trying to help her in every way that they possibly can to remain in this country and have a better life. They owe her that much, she loan her husband to the US to fight their war. Doesn’t that amount to something? It would really hurt me to see this woman return to the Dominican Republic and while her husband’s body is buried here, should he be really dead. That would be horrendous to say the least.

R&B singer Akon ought to be ashamed of himself for what what he did during his performance in Trinidad recently. From the video clip that was shown, Akon made singer Bobby Brown look like a saint when he attempted to dance with a 14 year old fan on stage. Akon dragged the teenager around on the stage this way and that it actually looked like an ape attacking his prey than a sexually suggestive dance. Word is that Verizon Wireless for which the singer has advertised for, has cut all ties with the singer. Way to go Verizon Wireless.

There has always been a proverbial clock attached to women when it comes to the age that they can have kids. But what about the men? Recent studies have shown that men are without childbearing restrictions. In fact a man can father a child well into his late 60s. The downside of this though is that studies have shown that some of these kids are born with schizophrenia. Be warned and plan wisely dads!

I visited the immigration office recently and showed up with my toddler only to be told that they did not allow kids inside while I had my appointment. Mind you I had only been in the office some eight months prior and was allowed in with the baby. No one sent me a memo about the recent changes and I was livid to say the least. I tried to explain to the guy at the desk that my husband was overseas in Iraq and I did not have family in our state to care for the baby but he would hear nothing of it. Don’t these people know that it pays to be lenient at times? Was he trying to imply that my child was a threat to national security? Well I guess I deserved that shabby treatment especially since I loan my husband to the Government to fight for our freedom.
