I am the one who is responsible for ordering various promotional products for my office. We typically give away ink pens and free mini-notepads to clients and potential clients when they come in to meet with us. Last week I began searching for a new company to handle all of our promotional products and I couldn’t be happier with my new choice. The previous company I used was starting to take forever to fill orders and the last order I placed with them contained the wrong style of products. I just started using a company called US Imprints and I really couldn’t be happier. Turnaround time on their orders seem great and the quality of their promotional products are top notch.

My wife has started another one of her successful home businesses and I had to admit that I’m quite proud of her. She’s selling a product that I’ve rarely seen on the market which involves wickless candles and warmers to go along with it. At first I wasn’t convinced that a warmer powered by a light bulb could really emanate a strong smell or even melt wax for that matter but it definitely blew my socks off. We have a two story home and I can smell the wickless candles all the way up on the second level.

My girlfriend’s father recently retired from his job of more than 30 years. He was given a brand new Patek Philippe watch and a nice celebration party in his honor. I wish I could find a job that I could see myself doing for the next 30 years. Im not really unhappy with my current job, I just don’t see myself working there for more than a few more years. The pay isn’t bad and I really get along with the people I work with, I just don’t enjoy my actual job tasks. Hopefully I can find something new and soon.

Lately I have been considering a different career path. I’ve been checking around to see what administrative jobs are available in my area and to my surprise there are quite a few. A friend of mine was telling me about admin jobs and it really got me thinking about my future career plans and where my current job was going to be in five or ten years.

Until recently, I had previously never had a chance to stay in a condo hotel. I didn’t think there would be anything special about it, but it’s actually a great experience. My office sent me out of town on business and gave me the choice to stay at any hotel that I wanted. I started looking around for condo hotels and found one. They paid for the whole thing and it was very nice. If you have the extra money, I highly recommend trying it.

My office recently started using some new financial consolidation software as requested by some of our clients. The software we are using is made by a company called PROPHIX. The software isn’t really that difficult to learn. I was expecting to take a while to really get the hang of it, but it really isn’t that bad. I enjoy working with computers and challenging myself, so this is perfect.

The cost of babysitting is ridiculously high. No argument there. And with high prices aside, how are we sure that we are getting what we pay for? Well that’s a topic for another day, my real issue is with the woman who posted a vacancy for someone to babysit her child for eight hours of which she would pay $4 an hour. How ridiculous is that? Yes babysitting prices are high but four dollars is an insult. How do these people expect these babysitters to survive on a salary like that? Someone blatantly told the employer that she could hire a crackhead for that price and to that I say it served her right!

Most moms would trade in their 9 -5 jobs for an opportunity to work from home and attend to their kids. With so many scams being infiltrated into the work at home system, one has to be very careful of the jobs that they apply for and which company is legitimate. One company that has been around providing WAH jobs is tjobs.com In business for over 11 years, all it takes to locate a job is $15 and then you will have access to jobs that including writing, typing, web designing etc.

People in the landscaping profession have been literally pulling their hair out because of the strange New England weather that has been occurring. Some landscapers who include snow removal into their business during the winter months were going out of their minds at the non-appearance of heavy snow. A lot of these businesses suffered incredibly by this since they were not able to generate money by planting flower gardens due to the weather. By the time the snow did come, a few landscaping companies had already thrown in the towel, selling their equipment on craiglist.org.

If you are a freelance writer, don’t ever work for an international employer. I’ve learnt the hard way when I signed up to a job board and completed numerous assignments for a client. I remember while doing his work, he started to press me to get all the work in before the deadline. Now that I’ve completed the job, the client has gone missing. He answered one of my emails and none of the others after that. I found out that this man, who is appears to be more “hungary” than I am for money, is a senior member of Parliament overseas. And he can’t even cough up $180 dollars. Bummer!
